    RAID 10 Sanity Check

Yeah, That's why I was saying it was easier for the OS to delay writing to the mirror than delay writing the next stripe. Although a relative measure, the stripes are not really that big and it is likely to need to write multiple stripes. You do realize only one drive on an IDE channel can be...

    RAID 10 Sanity Check

And to answer the question I thought you were asking, you want the striped drives on different channels because you will be reading/writing to them at the same time. The OS should be able to queue up reads and writes to the mirror more easily.

My old Canon A20. 2.1MP. Handheld. The panoramic would have been a little better with a tripod. It's an odd shape after rotating and cropping. Before I fixed it each picture of the panorama was rotated about 2 degrees CW. Must have had one foot on a rock.

I listen to it occasionally. I prefer songs that tell a story. Poetry set to music. Music that's personal. That's not to say classical music doesn't fit those criteria just that its not easy to see it. If its any consolation, I bought the Samuel Barber double CD you recommended and I didn't...

If I got a Rebel it would be for the large megepixel ccd and ability to use multiple lenses with it. The biggest limitations I have with the A80 is related to the optical zoom (not enough without an add-on) and the flash (a common problem unless you have a dedicated flash). In order to make it...

I can second the A80. Is was a definate step up from the A20 I had. It does have a manual mode and even semi-manual modes (ie. you set one option manually and it auto sets the rest. It has the flip-out LCD of the Gx. I really like that it takes AAs and that it takes 4 for longer shoots between...

If someone wants to kill someone they will do it. By AK-47 or by broken bottle or by their own two hands. In addition, now the most vulnerable victims are utterly defenseless. The severity of violent crimes may decrease (it really depends on the intent of the criminal) but the number of...

    Conservatives and moderates only....

No, I think the level of crime would be just as bad or worse were there no firearms available. Maybe the severity of a wound would not be as bad. An ax handle or spoon can be used as a weapon. If someone wants to weild power over another, for whatever reason, they only need to be more powerful...
