What type of WD BB HDD drive do I have?

Ohh, don't worry about Tannin, he's just a grumpy person. He even argues with me! But as for monkey business, I'm a little retarded in that department. DB seems to want to teach it too me but I'm not sure I want to lean it just yet. Does it have something to do with lying under the bar and...

Tis cool, Jake. I'm still your friend. It's only Tannin that is arguing with you. But Tannin argues with everyone. (Apart from my natural friendliness, of course, I need you to arrange for me to meet that cute orang friend of yours, name of Slo.)

Align Text 2.0.0 This creates a new BBCode, 'your_code'. It simply takes the code and aligns it left, right or center depending what you specify I like this one. Would be very handy. And we multiple types will really benefit from the "mark all topics read" thingo. We couldn't find it either.

What type of WD BB HDD drive do I have?

One half of the platter, yes. But it's the top half. Or possibly the bottom half. In other words, the single head uses one side of the platter only, and covers that full-stroke.

    Drive Recovery

The SE is a common drive and should be easy to get hold of. I'd try swapping the board with another one - that will only cost you a few dollars and some time. And if that doesn't work, what the hell? Try swapping whatever other bits you can reach. It will run for a little while before it dies...

Intel vs. AMD? ATI vs. nVidia?

Yup: fair comment, Time. My assessment of Abit is almost entirely based on reputation. We did have a box of ten KT-133 boards a year or so ago, which all went perfectly, but that's about it. A-Open, the same applies. Were I to try them more regularly I might feel differently. As for ASUS, we...

Intel vs. AMD? ATI vs. nVidia?

I'd trust Gigabyte before I trusted MSI to get it right. I don't know where MSI's sudden reputation as one of the majors has come from. They always used to be regarded as just another average generic 386 board maker back when they put "Microstar" instead of "MSI" on their boxes, and I have yet...

Excuse Tannin please, people. He's a bit bloody-minded today. (Err... a bit more than usually bloody-minded, I mean. He's ordinarily bloody-minded every day.) So I guess it's up to me to try to respond to Handruin's question. POP3 client, multiple accounts into one in-box: that's easy. But...

    Just tried Netscape 7.0

I must have been bored. After the discussion of browsers and email clients in another thread just now, I tok it into my head to take another look at Netscape. OK, I know it's based on the Mozilla engine and I already have Moz, but I was curious. After the dreadful 6.0, could they have made it...

Ahh, thankyou Blakerwry. I'm aware of the skins for Moz, and they help a lot, but somehow it always seems to have a trace of that milled-from-the-solid-turd look that Netscape 6.0 introduced, skin or no skin. Just me, I guess.

Hi Blakewry. Nice to see you around. I still think that Moz looks terrible by comparison with Opera or IE or even Netscape 4.X, but it just keeps getting better and better so far as the practicalities go. As a browser, anyway. I have never used it as an email app. (I'm perfectly happy with...

    Decent board for SDRAM

A good choice, Mercutio. We sold a couple of hundred of them and were happy. One thing to bear in mind is that they are near end of life now, and EOL products often are a little suspect - they seem to use up the dregs. (Not commenting on Soltek in particular here, just board makers in general...

Thanks for the tip. Time. We pretty much only sell the 670U and the 660U, and I doubt that those relatively low-end products will drop too much. Right now I think we have two or maybe three 670Us in stock, which is maybe two weeks' supply. Should be safe enough. As for the other matter, yes...
