Why not remove the My Documents folder from the desktop, and replace it with a shortcut to a My Documents folder on another drive?

2003 and XP appear to pick the fastest disk for page file usage, first. You can, with only about 130 mb, put your entire os kernal in RAM, and, the paged parts of the kernal as well. It appears that a bunch of little page file writes and reads seriously slow down the windows experience...

IIRC, I set the registry to delete the pagefile at close down. Since it's a ram disk, it doesn't take much time at all to clear, though the memory seems to be reserved on the disk. To delete the one that was blue screening, I set the registry to delete on shutdown the pagefile, then on reboot...

HMMMM. I'm getting 100-120 mb/sec, and, the RAT on two raid 0 Cheetah 15k's aren't slow. That said, ONE Cheetah 15.5-6k will do 135 mb/sec. My guess is two might get around 200 mb/sec. I can take the 147 10k's and put them in a Raid 1 mirror. While not solid state, they don't cost 800 dollars...

I just had a Samsung 22.5" develop a nice, bright, 2 inch green line. Took it back, and got a 2233. It was nearly 100 dollars cheaper, brighter, and I think it maybe a little bigger. The resolution is far higher, which might or might not be a good thing.

Quick update. I have managed to tune Vista so I've got it somewhat working, and looking like XP PRO. The wireless on this Dell works great, now, running nearly 10 MB/sec. WD drive, 5400 rpm, is faster then my 7200 rpm seagate. Sata Vs. IDE, and, different generations, this by about 20%.
