Using 38" Sony LCD TV as main monitor?

Hi Someone I know has a 38" Sony, but, needs a HD capable TV to go with her Blue Ray. The Sony is not HD capable. Now, it should have S-video, and, my ATI 1650 has a S-Video out. Anyone using such a TV as a primary monitor? The other option is either a 22" Samsung, or a 25" Viewsonic.

Being the cat in the bowling alley: What are the differences between XP, 2003, and Vista, that make Vista require so much faster hardware, and so much ram? Thanks

Is Ubuntu the nix that finally brings Linux mainstream?

If the guys that did WINE were more intrested in making office apps, rather then games work, it would be wonderful. Yes, Synaptic works, and works well. Course you have to get used to the Linux apps. I like the idea of having a WINE developer actually get mainstream, or even industry unique...

Is Ubuntu the nix that finally brings Linux mainstream?

The computer is just three years old, and, it's just out of warranty, which of course I find out when one of the speakers dies... It's an intel processor, 1.6 ghz, stepped, Pentium R M. Drive it's running off is 4200 rpm, the one that came in it, but, it was actually reasonably fast, about 25...

Is Ubuntu the nix that finally brings Linux mainstream?

I've got a spare drive and caddy for my Panasonic CF-51, and, for the first time ever, I've got a Nix based OS that actually does some basic functionality stuff, like playing a movie, watching something on youtube.com, etc. This is a first for me, and, even though it's on a 5400 rpm drive, vs...

Going mobile: service provider, hardware complete package?

Sorry if the initial post was confusing. I'm looking for the same solution David has in Moscow, but in Kali.. At the same time, it would be nice to be able to pull the card out of the laptop, plug it in to a router, wired is fine, and be able to run a couple of desktops off that.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Didn't see an IDE version, or a converter that would work in a laptop. In theory, the 32mb version would work, since the XP install, and document is at 16GB. That would make for a VERY insane laptop.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Seems pretty obvious why they aren't mainstream. With a 15-30 year life span, you wouldn't exactly be out shopping for new drives very often. So, SSD buyer=lost customer. 5.9 vs. 7.6ms? Rather strange they didn't compare the VR against 15k drives.

Replacement fan for ATI 1650 Pro card?

My thought exactly. Figured moving the squirrel over a slot would stop whatever might have been happening. Give the front fan a better chance to blow cool air over the heatsink on the card, and, the squirrel can exit hot air out the back, along with another slot being open as a vent.
