OK: observation time. I've noticed that although the performance settings were set for programs, the programs just don't use the cpu, or the memory I've got in the system. So, I set them to favor the operating system, 'background services' and 'system cache' in the advanced performance options...

A 180 would give you 6 drives fixed in the lower bay. You could use the front mounted slots for 3-4 drives with removable caddies for storage. Advantage is you wouldn't be using the storage drives all the time, and, you wouldn't have the wear on them as well. Two drives for boot, raid 0, 3...

HMMMM. I've used the SCSI version of the 5 drive hot swap bay, and, replaced the fan with a Vantec Stealth, IIRC. The original fan was industrial strength, and, built like a tank. Sounded like one as well. I don't remember the fan being a special size... No alarm problems, either...

When I just copy the disks, it appears that they put in bad sectors, or weak sectors, that when copied, are inferior to the original disk. Do these programs correct, remove, fix, such weak areas? Thanks Dr G

Not to hijack this thread, but is there a CD ripper/burner that will cleanup a CD, for copying, or burning, to another CD? Some of the originals that I have just aren't that good. Anyway to cleanup some of the old concert CD's, etc. ?? Thanks Dr. Greg
