GRRR: Trying to install both Adaptec UW card, and ATTO LVD..

Figured it out. I had to disable the host adaptor bios on the adaptec card, so the computer goes to the next bootable scsi card, the atto. The other alternative is to play musical cards, in the different pci slots. s

GRRR: Trying to install both Adaptec UW card, and ATTO LVD..

Having fits. I've got an UW adaptec 2940 card, and I'm trying to connect my external raid box to my pc. It was a mac box. When I boot, it says it's booting off the ATTO card, but, it's changing my hard drive ID from C to D. Can't figure out why. I've moved the scsi ID for the 2940 to 15...

What to do with a G3 Mac, and old computers, like P3, 450mhz

I've thought about that. First off, it has only 3 pci slots. USB takes one, Scsi UW the other, and Voodoo 5500 for the last one. The voodoo has no drivers under OS X, and, from what I can gather, niether does any old scsi card avaliable. So, if I upgrade to OS X, I have to pull the Scsi...

    Voodoo 5500: worth replacing?

This is,IIRC, what Tannin said as well, and why I'm reluctant to switch cards. Jtr1962: What kind of hard drive are you using? I'm thinking the Powerlead might be a real good idea for our Dell Dimension 400 mhz, P2. I'm using a Quantum LM in it. Ideas? gs

Norton System Works Pro 2001 and W2K SP4

WHY, if you have a MSFT defrager in 2000, would you ever put anything from symantec on your computer? They pull the same crap with macs. Give them no credit, they learned it from MSFT, who makes MSFT Office incompatible with core extensions, like OTransport, in the mac os... s If you steal...

What to do with a G3 Mac, and old computers, like P3, 450mhz

I've been thinking about this over night. The new macs may devalue my mac even more, or, they might come out with another upgrade, faster then the current 1 ghz for 300 dollars upgrade. Problem with macs is everytime you look at something like that, and the amount of speed it really increases...

    Voodoo 5500: worth replacing?

Thanks, all. I always wonder with these great advancements, if I'm even going to notice. I noticed the 1.4 athlon, from the PII 400 mhz. Likewise the 4 X X 15's make a huge difference, as does 512 mb of ram. On the PII 400 mhz I bought a Kyro II 64 mb card to replace the 16 mb TNT, and that...

    Voodoo 5500: worth replacing?

Hi Is it really worth replacing my 5500? I don't do much but internet, some video, trailers, etc. email, some Quake 3, but not much, and lots of text and graphics. I'm after either a really noticeable improvement in graphics quality on this Hitachi 802 21 inch, in text, or a great increase in...

What to do with a G3 Mac, and old computers, like P3, 450mhz

Hi I've been watching ebay on G3, 333mhz towers, and for the amount of money people pay, it's almost not worth selling. I never use the thing, except if I'm teaching school. Then, since schools use mostly macs, the old os, old little programs, etc. and the Lombard, make a very nice...

Getting a Windows Refund in California Small Claims Court

HP might have a really good position on this one. If MSFT refuses to sell them Windows lic, as they did in the past, if you offer another os, since they have been ruled an illegal monopoly, their further abuse of that position, restraining trade, and the development of other, competing os, is...

So did I, Gary. Problem was, in Santa Cruz, without a leash, it was either low tide, or no surfboard, if you got caught inside, or fell off. Waves were way to good not to use a leash...at high tide. Fish actually worked well, and I made a substantial income polishing fish, to send to Florida. s
