Yup. It was designed by Sid Meier (the Civilization guy) in the late 80s (87? 88?) after his famous "Pirates!" and before Civ.

What SIMMs will work in a 430HX motherboard?

That guy will probably take 32MB EDO or FP SIMMs. 64s are actually iffy on many HX boards (the Tyan and Micronics HX boards I remember both had weird requirements for high-capacity RAM). I don't think I'd bother trying 128s, no matter what the book says.

There wasn't anything particularly exciting about AmigaOS, but the Amiga itself was so far ahead of its time it was scary. Considering that we're talking about, at most, the same 68040 processors found in late-model non-PowerMacs (basically in the 20 to 33MHz range), those machines had...

Just to make a few things clear: I *currently* live in what would be called a low-income area. I support the idea of population control. It's a joke. You missed a question. HURD is the GNU OS. "But isn't Linux the GNU OS?", you ask? Umm... no. Linus wrote the Linux kernel and used all of GNU's support tools with it. The reason it's a joke is, developers (er, a couple of them, anyway) have been working on it steadily for *20...

    Weekend's Worm: It's finally over!

Traffic is traffic, Prof. The internet was just as clogged from the billions of UDP packets SQL Slammer sent out as it would've been by the more traditional attacks that Code Red initiated. How do you get rid of the stupid Macromedia Flash pop-up?

Macromedia is in the business to make money. So is microsoft. Maybe not, but in that case you'd have a de facto state endorsement of the private school, which is not a good thing. If we allocated $x to every student from age 3 - 18, that would be a different thing, of course. But to take things to a logical conclusion, if a non-public institution took...

Really, a tank defends against RPGs by adding more armor. :) It's another arms race. Better armor will only lead to better AP or HE munitions. In the end, it's probably easier to build a thermonuclear hand grenade than it is to build a mobile box that can protect its occupants from a...
