I'm not James but... It's possible to multiplex AC3 back into .AVI files. You need to use a program called graphedit to do it, and playback sync is a cold-hearted b*tch. That, plus the filesizes for .AC3 audio are sort-of high, so if you want to maintain video quality, you're looking at 2 - 3...

Absolutely. The drives work just fine for me, except for that one familiar, handy function of Win98. BIOS on these machines looks normal as far as floppy-like things go, and, unbelievably, I'm using the last revision of the BIOS for these stupid %$%^-ing PC Chips boards (July of 2000).

Best thing I can tell you is to make a LAN Manager boot disk with drivers for your NIC, if possible. Bootdisk.com has one set up for a 3COM PCMCIA nic, but I can help you if you need something different than that. DOS drivers + LAN Manager client is a major PITA to set up.
