Oh look, a legislator from Indiana is doing something stupid

Hey everybody, look at this! For those too lazy to click, this asshole republican (but I repeat myself...) wants to reclassify sex scenes in movies and TV shows to match the same criteria as actual, explicit adult films. In other words, movies and TV shows with love scenes - even ones where...

I've looked into social bookmarking. It bothered me for some reason. Wasn't something I felt comfortable doing. Which probably just proves that I'm anti-social. I make use of RSS feeds (I just use live bookmarks in Firefox) from slashdot.org, Google news, fark.com (always a good way to waste a...

    Cooler Master

The Chenming case is nice. I have a few of them. They're fairly well insulated and they are easy to work on. With a supermicro SATA enclosure, I would only attach one set of rails - two sets made removing the enclosure REALLY hard. I do wish they had a few more 3.5" bays, and I'm not a big fan...

Windows security settings to deny del/ren/create folders

14 people looked at this? And no one else answered? OK... There's three sets of rules that govern file-level security on Window. Rule 1. Share-level security is additive unless there's a "Deny". A user's permissions for a file share are the Most Permissive possible. If the Everyone Group...

I made an order from a possibly sketchy online store.

I have TERRIBLE problems with getting my apartment's address verified. I don't know why. Standard procedure is for an order to my address to be denied, and to get a note asking that I call so-and-so in Customer Service, who will then verify my address again, have my card declined while I'm on...

Well, hey, if we're going there... Everyone remember the tender love scene from "Fight Club"? Neither do I. But Helena Bonham-Carter (Marla) had this to say after a roll in the hay with Brad Pitt (Tyler Durden): "I haven't been fucked like that since grade school." Which is, to my way of...

Dell PCs are complete and utter crap

No, I'm quite certain I have some old computer magazines - PC Magazine or Byte, maybe - that have PC's Limited advertisements. I remember thinking that the owner was an idiot for letting that typo go out in all his ads... until I saw an article that indicated that the name was, in fact, correct.

    regarding half.com

I've used Half.com for three or four years. Mostly to buy CDs (rarely) and DVDs (much more often). Half.com is a good way to get legit copies of DVD sets that cost way too much at MSRP ($99 for an X-files season? I'll wait and get it on half.com) And I can't say I've had a problem.

Yeah, actually. Actual gay guys tend to like MEN. People with hair in places I don't care to think about, defined muscles and gruff voices. Those aren't exactly common traits in 12 or 14-year-olds. Whereas, a pedophile probably isn't worried about sexual characteristics of his/her victim -...
