I'm considering buying this motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=13-137-036
$82 shipped seems like a good price for an NForce2 Ultra (400). I've never (knowingly) using AOpen products. Is their stuff any good?
Thanks,

Desktop manager lest you have multiple desktops and preview them as well....reminds me of working on my J6700!
Install the powertoy and then right click your taskbar to enable the Desktop Manager...
Buy one of these:
Sapphire ATI OEM RADEON 9500 128MB DDR BULK from Newegg (or similar)
and use the software mod:

to get 9700 speed for the 9500 price. Works great. Make sure you get the red PCB version with the RAM in the shape of an 'L'.
Hey guys-
For the gift system I'm eventually going to build, I have an old SBLive! card that I got off eBay for something like $5.00

I bought this motherboard from newegg for the gift system I'm building but just realized the system is not to be given until OCTOBER rather than August. So, I figure I will wait and choose the motherboard I want to give them in September or so (hopefully KT600 will be available).

Damn! The bastards at Best BUy falsly advertised the 60GB WD drive they had on sale for $50 after rebate(s) as the 8MB version with long warranty. It was only the 2MB version with standard warranty.
I'm still looking for a good deal on a 3-year warranyy drive if anybody sees one...8MB cache...
Piyono (Doug?)-
I've been looking at that case for several months. I like it alot but it is about $30-$40 more than the 3700AMB I purchased. The only major differences between the two I see are:
Sonata is Black (negative for me, since I have a beige CDRW for the system)
Sonata has a little...
Guys...thanks for your input thus far. I ended up picking up a Gigabyte board per Tannin's suggestion as well as some other things. I shopped at NewEgg & MWave and it turned out the NewEgg price was cheaper overall (by just a few bucks, including shipping) so I cancelled my MWave order and...

I think the technology is interesting and applaud MSI's innovation. As long as it works reliably, I don't see a problem with it.
I would expect that they would have announced it publicly later on after their testing was complete as the 'feature' would be a good market selling point.

Well...an R9700 is a little on the pricey side for this 'gift' system.
I'm looking for a part that comes with a passive sink installed from the factory and isn't over $100. I might be able to go a little higher depending on the performance of the card...
