Just got my replacement board from Asus today, along with an email and FedEx instructions. It only took them 5-6 days to get me the board after faxing in the form for the credit card hold. Not bad.

I run two monitors, and Dexpot works fine. I don't actually run that many applications, but it's nice running each virtual machine in a maximized window on its own desktop. Dexpot then lets me easily cycle through desktops.

Weird. Did you disable Speed Step or something? I recently found that my board has some difficulty with 4x4GHz sticks in place. Getting them to work initially required some work, and now if I reboot I'm fine, but if I power off/on I have to hit the "memOK!" button and then reset them to 1600 MHz.

No, no, that's really not true. You see, most graphics card manufacturers tend to stick with the same type of packaging. So I can expect my next Asus card (retail) to come with another nice box.

I still don't fully understand Vcore, nor how the Turbo Frequency vs baseclock fits together when OC'd. I think my 2600k gets an additional boost of up to 400 MHz above my baseclock (4.8 GHz when OC'd) when conditions allow.

I just adjusted my Autoarchive settings on my work account for a specific folder and it worked as expected.

The lowest-end Sandy Bridge with the better video that I've heard of is the 2500k, which goes for $225. The cheapest H67 boards (H67 allows you to use the on-die graphics stuff, P67 does not) currently available start for ~$75 and go up from there. Not sure that's a bargain for a HTPC compared...

I ended up going with a Brother multifunction and have been happy with it. We use it to scan, fax, and print a few times per week, and usually just a few pages.

My system is now pretty well up and running as I want it. So far, so good. This board makes overclocking ridiculously easy. My system runs very well with a Vcore of 1.24 and a 40x muliplier (4.12 GHz, stock is 3.4 GHz). Overall I'm pretty happy.

I now have my i7 2600k system up and running. There's definitely some funkiness going on with the BIOS (video card error when I power up all my hard drives), but I just don't have time to track it down now.

Dumb question - my case (HAF-X) has an eSATA port. It looks like the cable coming off the top panel from the eSATA port is a standard SATA port (with an "L" keyed into it). Does this mean I can plug that into any (internal) SATA connector to convert it to eSATA?
