Your home Stereo/sound system/s? What did you buy, how much, and why did you buy it?

Speaking of Ebay, my bedroom set of Kef Q-series probably only cost me $600 to put together. I had to spend $100 to replace a driver on one of them but if I had paid retail or "hi-fi store used" that probably would have been $3000 worth of speakers.

Your home Stereo/sound system/s? What did you buy, how much, and why did you buy it?

Another Integra? No probably not. I'll probably look at Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer Elite and some other things are in the low-ish four figure range though. That might include an Integra, but I doubt it. I'm not terribly worried about getting a gazillion watts per channel since I don't typically...

I'm fairly convinced at this point that pirates always have the moral high ground in this debate. Game companies other than maybe Stardock tend to be pretty goddamned evil.

I built a dozen or so mITX boxes that actually do use a standard ATX power supply. I have no ideal who made them; I bought them from my local distributor the receipt just says "Generic." They're effectively the same size as a Shuttle SFF shoebox.

Google, in a general display of awesome, has implemented browser-based Angry Birds for people who really want to waste their time and have their computer make lots of oink-oink noises. As I recall you used to swear by Harmon Kardon, but that was apparently back when you cared about music. When I'm home there's always music on, to the point where I would rather sit in a 95 F apartment with no fans on than try to listen to my music with fans and AC. Which is pretty much May...

My brother is an insane audiophile and has been since he was in college. He gave me some pointers based on his experiences and then I disregarded half of it because I know he's an idiot, but since music is very important to me and I thought it very likely that I wouldn't be able to be...

    Outlook PST Hell

One of the great frustrations I have is that everything in the world of Exchange costs a ton of money, especially antispam solutions. It was easier and more efficient for me to get a cheap computer with Linux and Spamassassin and route mail through that than to get a worthwhile mail filter for...

Things that are not Outlook most often store E-mail as plain text. Plain text that is easy to re-format if need be, which can be directly imported into other non-retarded clients and which can be recovered quite easily if some portion of the file gets munched for some reason. What good does...

mITX scares me more than a little bit. Decent PSUs wind up costing as much as a motherboard and Atom CPU, and then there's heat to consider for non-Atom systems. I wish I could take SFF stuff more seriously but it's still a lot easier to get good, cheap desktop parts.

    Linux Mint+Virtual Box+MS Mouse

Is it out of bounds to suggest a different mouse to see if there's something weird about the Microsoft one? There should be a pointer settings tool in your GUI someplace, or a way to install it if it's been overlooked.
