Another Digital Camera Thread - Point and Shoot

Curiouser & curiouser. In looking for reviews of the F11, I found The Camera Box selling the F11 for $289. Their telephone # & prefix put them in Brooklyn (north). Their Reseller Ratings are decent too. Looks like they sell "import" models. aka gray market.

Tim: Please do, I'd be interested. Who cares about the 16MB card anyway! Price could be a problem, though. Groltz, man, you are awesome. I even did a Froogle search (but I fess, I didn't have too much patience with it). And you provide me a link to an authorized dealer in the US! $350 +...

Thanks Tim & Groltz. I guess the F11 needs to be written off. The F30 looks like it's "available" but not shipping from the usual suspects for ~$400. The buyer has a budget of $300 max and she wants it in two weeks or less. We'll see what plays out.

I'll continue here instead of starting a third thread. What's the current greatest compact digicam? The Fuji F11 seems nowhere in sight. Canon's released new Elph models that are presumably better - I'm looking specifically at the SD600. The Panasonic FX-01 has image stabilization, but the CCD...

They are making a lame & feeble attempt to correct the problem. My kid's in 4th grade, and they teach her things in, um, American and International units. Problem is, there's no follow through; freeway and highway signs are marked only in miles, you still buy things in the store in American...

Menace to Society or Public Speach

In this age of paranoia, when a fart in public can cause you to be arrested for endangering others, I think children should be educated as to the kind of games they can play outside the home. That's why positive air pressure is important. When you have negative pressure (more air sucked out than is blowing in), air gets into the case from every crack and crevice, from every FDD and optical, every USB, FW and sound jack. With positive pressure, you control the entry points and can...

You probably won't like it for various reasons, but Lexar makes a cap-like player for the JumpDrive Sport, and it usually comes with a piddly JumpDrive Sport USB stick. Buy it (or the cap-player alone, which is sometimes available), and stick a 2GB JupmDrive Sport in there.

CD emulation software conflict with Call of Duty game.

Daemon Tools is a well known freebie CD/DVD drive emulator. Virtual Drive is a for-pay emulator. Yuo might want to look for these two in CtlPnl/Add-Remove Progs. Daemon Tools recently released a new version that defeats most games' detection of emulators. But it does this by installing a driver...

FAH is fine for people that would leave their systems on 24/7 in any case. I have always been conscious of the needless power drain of leaving things on. When we're away on vacation, with the PC, TV, and everything else off except the refrigerator, the electricity bill falls to half. Not 10%...

    150GB Raptor announced

This shouldn't be an issue if you're using the backplate / PCI bracket (bottom right in the pic); the cable from that would be plugged in once into the onboard SATA port and left there, and the external SATA device would then be plugged in and out of the port on the outside of the bracket, which...
