    Brilliant Clerks at Food Lion

My favorite change story: I stopped in a 7-11 to get a drink one hot summer day on my way home from work. While I was in there deliberating between their fine selection of tasty cold beverages, a positively stunning young woman walked in: short blond hair, daisy duke-style cutoffs and something...

Buying a LCD in the next day and need advice

You might be able to get away with an 18" LCD at that price point, if you dropped the hard requirement for 1600x1200. You could also do a flatscreen 21" CRT if you were willing to accept a lease returned display. In fact, I'd say that's you best bet.

I should amend my comment: I am disgusted on a whole new level. The US had no right to invade Iraq. We were the aggressor and the conqueror. But, we rationalized that Saddam was lying about his weapons and he was a cretin to his people. Except, he (apparently) wasn't lying. So he was a...

    Walgreens 15 TDK 4x DVD+Rs - $32

Title says it all. Two of the Walgreens in my area (both the ones I've been in today) have 15-packs of 4x DVD+R discs for $32. You can get 4x discs cheaper in bulk, but they usually cost $2 apiece in small quantities, without shipping charges, so this is a pretty good deal.

This from a man who, two years ago, swore up and down that hard disks were ridiculously large. It only takes one data-consuming hobby to make 80GB into "a good days' work". Is this 72GB drive just due to extra platter count or did WD up areal density significantly? And why isn't a decent...
