The only RAID 0 issues I've heard are coming from seagate barracuda ATA IV's performing below expectations... all other IDE drives, as far as I know, work fine in raid 0, 1, and 5.
I read a while ago about problems with the Special Edition Caviar (those with 8MB cache) in RAID 5 arrays. Apparently, the way the drive uses its large cache increases the chances to corrupt the data within the array.
It's far away in my memory though, don't ask me the details. Google is your friend.
