Hi
I'm running email off a Panasonic CF-37. I have limited space, and, the CF-37 seems to like 800X600 for resolution for an external LCD.

Anyone have a cheap, easily readable favorite, in 800X600 resolution?

Thanks

Are you sure you can't adjust the res for the VGA out?

When I go to a higher res, 1024x768, it does a really weird thing.

It becomes much bigger then the avaliable screen, and to get to the edges, you have to drag the mouse to the sides. It's like the screen area is only the center of the bigger screen. Weird.

Besides, I thought the deal with LCD's was they sucked outside of their designed resolution.

They do.

But what I was getting at was - the CF-37's screen is obviously 800x600, but if your hooking up to an external monitor through the laptop's VGA out, can't the laptop's video card be set to work at a higher res for the external monitor? For that matter, can you turn the laptop's own screen off, once you get the VGA out monitor hooked up, and adjust then?

So far, the answers appear to be no, and no.

The options are non-existent. The video out is confined to a 4mb graphics card, and I think that might be the limiting factor.

The options aren't avaliable as with other laptops.

However, it's under 4 pounds, and works reasonably well.

Just figured a cheap 800X600 LCD might be out there, somewhere.
