I've wanted a domain name for many years now, and the owner has never gotten back to me. He is now dead. I'd like a service to purchase this domain name for me as soon as it becomes available (might be years depending on how far into the future he paid for it).

Does anyone here have recommendations on who to use for this?

Thanks!

You can hire a hitman but you can't figure out how to buy the domain?

Continually hit F5 while chanting, "Come on baby."

Seriously though, good luck getting the domain. Can you tell us the name you want?

I own ddrueding.com, I've wanted drueding.com. Which has been owned by the only other David Drueding on earth (well, formerly on the earth; there can be only one.)

Distant uncle.

You could trademark your last name and do a hostile takeover. Otherwise, you could try to see if the executor of his estate will sell it. Or, you can try to backorder it from the major registrars. Hopefully the current registrar doesn't attempt to auction it.

No, not really. AFAIK namejet doesn't contact the domain holder, just waits for domains to be almost-expired and reported by namejet-affiliated registrars. Then if there is an offer pending for the name (and the name isn't renewed by the original owner), there is an auction, but the proceeds only go to the registrar and namejet. I could be wrong - I only skimmed through the site.
