Where do you buy them other than Dell? The website indicates 3-5 weeks, which is too long to wait.

We've always gotten them from Dell as far as work is concerned. But CDW, Tiger, Amazon, etc. all carry them as well.

I can't use a non-OEM battery; the risk is too great. I shouldn't have to buy a battery, but an IT request would take forever and probably be rejected.

Batteries.com usually offers both OEM and their own brand. Theirs is usually cheaper with higher capacity.

It was not even listed at all, which is surprising for a current model.

^they will 'refill' your OEM battery, no real 'risk' other than it fails down the road, which could happen to any battery.

29. What is the exchange program?

The supplied battery protrudes from the rear. I want to buy a 3-cell battery to make the laptop smaller/lighter. It is corporate property so I can't use any unapproved accessories.
