Where do you buy them other than Dell? The website indicates 3-5 weeks, which is too long to wait. :(

I can't use a non-OEM battery; the risk is too great. I shouldn't have to buy a battery, but an IT request would take forever and probably be rejected.

huh?

Is yours one of the recalled batteries?

You need an extra, or a replacement?

^they will 'refill' your OEM battery, no real 'risk' other than it fails down the road, which could happen to any battery.

29. What is the exchange program?
If you have an old laptop battery, we can exchange it for another one instead of refilling the old one. Exchanging your battery instead of refilling it costs the same but exchanging your battery is faster and guaranteed to work. Instead of refilling your battery, we will send you a battery that is already refilled and we keep the old one that you mail to us. However, this service is limited to certain battery brands. The exchange program can be compared to a Propane tank exchange - use the one you initially bought and return it for a refilled tank/battery at a fraction of the cost to buy a new one! Our current list of batteries that be exchanged include the IBM Thinkpad 365, 560, 600, 755, 760, 765, 790 models, the IBM T20, the IBM Workpad 240, C50, and Z50 models. Also included are the Dell recall batteries listed as well as the Panasonic CF-17, CF-27, CF-28, CF-48, CF-50 model batteries.

The supplied battery protrudes from the rear. :( I want to buy a 3-cell battery to make the laptop smaller/lighter. It is corporate property so I can't use any unapproved accessories.
