Determining username from IP in AD enviroment?

Look at the user profiles and see which was modified most recently. That will get you closer. You may also check the security event logs.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I know the IP address and the machine name, but I have no idea where the box physically is. I want the username so I can locate the machine.

All the boxes I've built while here have the office number as the machine name, but some were done by others, and this machine is called "user1".

There's a program I've used for that called WMI Asset Logger that can pretty easily give you that information.
