Just tried the New Diskeeper. (the trailware, not the freeby version) It works extreamly fast and does a great job.
I just might have to buy it.

why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free... i guess this is why they dont offer the same speed in their freebie version.. it is dog slow compared to the full version, not only that the full version doesn't slow my system down the way the free/win2k/XP version does.

No support for larger-than-4K clusters

really? I used the diskeeper 7.0 1st edition (why are there two 7.0's?) with cluser sizes of 4, 16, and 32k without incedence...

maybe it has something to do with the programs optimization...

It refused to defrag my three partitions using 16K clusters under Win2K. I'm using the trialware version.

No one ever listens when I say the easiest way to defrag large clusters is a ghost backup/restore, which is too bad, because it is.

i've done it for years on winNT4.... but never needed to on win2k/XP because of the built in defragger. :bravo:
