I have a slightly irritating problem with Firefox. The bookmark icons are incorrect most of the time for some reason! For example, an MSN group will have the icon for ebay and vice versa. Anyway to fix this? I'm probably missing something obvious as usual. lol
thanks

The icons are stored in you bookmarks.html file as base64 encoded data.
My icon for storageforum was the one for storagereview.
I just removed the ICON="stuff here" from my link but now I have no icon.
Deleting and readding the bookmark doesn't help.
I still don't think they've got bookmark icons quite right.

Here's my solution, an extension called "Configuration Mania". All my bookmarks have generic icons next to them.

Woohoo finally got a storageforum icon.
I found an extension that adds a thing to the property page of the bookmark allowing you to set the bookmark icon. But when I tried to use the favicon.ico from storageforum it was too large. So I removed all but the 16x16 and 32x32 256 color icons from the image.

Here is the extension:

Will, is there a way to copy an icon from one bookmark and add it to another/ I haven't figured that out yet.

Go to the site that has the icon you want, say google.
Then type http://www.google.com/favicon.ico

That is usually the place where the icon is kept.
Some people use another name/location and include a link in the source code of the html page that points to it.
Save that file locally and then you can set it as the bookmark icon.

Thanks Will. That works great for most sights, though I'm having a problem with MSN groups. For example: groups.msn.com/favicon.ico gives me a page not found error. groups.msn.com/holdemangathering/favicon.ico just brings up the homepage of that group.
