Interesting, might be time to upgrade in late September then...

With a heat spreader the heat issues might be a bit easier to handle. And the noise issues related to the heat dissipation.

Incredibly, it was 27C in Sydney today. It's supposed to be Winter. :eek:

Another blurb on future Athlon design has come up at X-bit labs

A comment made in the article states "...you should bear in mind that the current infrastructure is not yet ready for the faster bus. There are no mainboards supporting 333MHz FSB, no chipsets as well. Moreover, none of the developers ahs any plans of the kind..." This, to me, seems like utter horseshit since I happen to be running a >333Mhz FSB right now. At 166Mhz FSB (333 DDR), the AGP and PCI bus frequencies are at their default speeds thanks to a 1/5 divider. The 1/5 divider is a bios feature present in some, but not all, KT333 chipset motherboards.
