Gbit Uplink switches

Has anyone here purchased/used a low-end 24-port switch with a GBoC uplink port?

The only ones I've played with were $500 managed jobs from 3Com, and that's a substantially outside my budget.

I found This one at Newegg. Trendware isn't a brand I'm familiar with, though.

My biggest question would be what the fabric speed is...

The Dell I linked to has "Switching Capacity: 8.8 Gbps", pretty good for enrty level I think.
