Ghosting hard drive to external USB drive . . . ?

Hello again. I have a sinking feeling that I will not find a solution for this but I thought I would pose the question to the forum, just in case. I have a generic external USB hard drive, works fine, but is there any way I can ghost my computer's hard drive to the external drive? I searched and searched for DOS USB drivers, and found a few, but none of them work. I got one to recognize the drive, but it wasn't able to mount it properly.

Any ideas?

Ghost with the built in USB drivers recognizes my better USB drives fine. It depends on whether or not the chipset for the USB drive is recognized or not.

Well, there are always lots of ideas around. Solutions are another matter.

Did you ever give a Knoppix CD and dd a try?

Just be careful which way you send the data!
