Try the reel, it's the easiest place to make money. Every reel is a bit unbalanced and there are some numbers that come out more often than others. Observe the game pattern for ~10-20 minutes and then place small amounts of money on the three numbers who get out the most often.

Professional gamblers stay away from roulette, craps and keno. All have odds overwhelmingly in the favor of the house.
Blackjack is OK if you know how to play - real strategy, the only game where a good player can actually get better odds than the house, or poker if you're a longtime, serious player.
Best bet for first timers or those less than dead-serious about gambling is actually the slots.
I'm not a gambler, but my oldest brother is a frequent visitor to local casinos - I think there are five within ten miles of my apartment.

I haven't gambled since I lost $3500 on my trip to Vegas last year.
I only play blackjack. I've won many times, but for some reason my luck was horrible last year.
I can hear the dealer now.... "Check change 100".....
I've gambled in quite a few places now:
Foxwoods
Turning Stone (near Syracuse NY)
Freeport, bahamas
Cruise Ships out of Port Everglades, Ft. Lauderdale
Reno
Vegas
I had an incredible streak at Turning Stone once. I was doubling my bet every time I won, starting at $20. I won 7 times in a row and walked away with $2500.
Some of the basic rules I play by...
Always Split 8s and Aces....
Never split a pair of 10s.
Always double down if you have less than 12 and the dealer is showing a 4,5 or 6.
Never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on one hand.
Always play with as few decks as possible.
Have fun. Don't worry if you lose
Only go to the ATM 10 times

I lost...I handed the Indians my money and went home. It was fun though...the trip through that area is nice.
