Help! what is this IBM SCA tray bolt?

What the heck is this pattern? It's the bolt holding a HDD to an SCA tray for an IBM server.

Looks like a torx with the addition of a pin in the middle to defeat simple replacement! Is this a standard head pattern?

Ah yes, these little thorns are common on OEM systems, such as IBM, Compaq, HP, etc. It works best if you buy the appropriate tool (yes, it is a standard torx size, but you'll need the hole to absorb the pin).

I got a Torx security bit set at an auto store for those things. Check out the selection of cheap screwdriver sets.

Perhaps the robots have trouble with them.

In the past I've chiselled away at that little pin and used a flathead screwdriver to remove those screws. I remember seeing those on old Macs as well.
