Aside from paying way too much for the DDR3 memory so far I've been happy with this system. With the final hardware configuration in it (8 x 5400RPM Samsung 1.5TB HDs / 2 x 7200RPM Seagate 500GB HDs / Dell PERC 6i / Samsung SATA DVD+/-RW / Corsair 650TX / 2 x 2GB DDR3-1333) it consumes 123W from the wall outlet at idle.
I had a little trouble getting Wake on LAN to work. You have to change two settings in the driver. You have to set Wakeup Capabilities to Magic Packet, and set Shutdown Wakeup to On. If the latter isn't set to On the Atheros NIC isn't powered when the system is off. Obviously the BIOS also needs to have wake from PCI-E enabled.
