I would have guessed that the orange plastic plate should be removed during installation if I hadn't watched the video.

I also wouldn't have expected a screwdriver to be necessary, but it is a really big package.

I suppose the large size is due to the four separate processors in the package. That HSF looks rather anemic.

It turns out that the orange plastic bit is a spacer that is required.

The Threadripper CPUs will apparently come with the spacer, a Torx wrench to operate the screws, and an AM4-to-TR4 heatsink adapter.
