I've been watching Lara Croft, as Tomb Raider, and, the one thing I despise about the movie is here expanding/contracting breast sie. It goes from a c cup, to a double FF, and back again. They suck...

It would be better if Hollywood just got over their juvenile obsession with breasts and stopped padding their actresses altogether. Believe it or not, some people actually like females with small or even flat chests. The balloons which pass for breasts these days are freakish to say the least.

Speak for yourself.

A woman with a flat chest reminds me of a man (especially if they have short hair). I'm not attracted to men, so I likewise don't find women who look like men attractive.

Nothin' wrong with a flat chest. Waist, hips, butt, calves, cheekbones, lips... - those are the things that really make a woman look like a woman.

I'd rather see a lady with a flat chest than one with ginormous implants.
And seriously, if you think a woman looks like a man just because she doesn't have tits, I think you have bigger issues.

Feel free to PM me for links to wonderful examples of flat-chested yumminess.

I'm guessing then that probably 90% of Asian females remind you of guys, especially with short hair. I'm not big on short hair myself, but I can still tell the sexes apart easily even without huge headlights which scream "I'm a female!", or long hair.

Merc hit it on the head. To add to his list of what makes a female you have lack of facial hair, generally more delicate features, smaller hands/arms/legs/feet relative to their height, smaller overall size period, etc.

If anything take a good look at present-day Hollywood's standard of beauty. Sure, they need the huge breasts because nearly everything else about them is masculine. I lot of these actresses have features which are course compared even to most guys I know, are taller than I am, and quite a few even work out to the extent that they have bulging muscles. In short, without the silicone breasts it wouldn't be too hard to mistake them for guys. I honestly think quite a few of the key decision makers in Hollywood who pick what's sexy these days are closet queers.

Er, which are the actresses that look like men, anyway?
And, at least among A-list-types, I can't think of any with implants, either.

More from the B-list actually, but the majority of A-list actresses look bigger today than they did 5 years ago. OK, they didn't get huge implants, but nevertheless it's obvious something was done. As for the masculine part, I'm just comparing them to some of the opposite sex I've known personally. Quite a few have features which look really course even compared to my own, much less to females I've known. Why do so many actresses have big, wide mouths like Julia Roberts, for example? Not very feminine, and for that matter how many actresses are much under about 5'3", which is about the point where a female starts to seem masculine to me? The majority of adult females I've known in my life were at most a few inches over 5'. Quite a few were well under 5'. I guess my idea of what's feminine doesn't match Hollywood's.

I'd tend to agree. Has Hollywood glamor fixation pushed American guys to the point where huge saline-bag breasts are the only acceptable vision of feminine pulchritude?

I don't know if it's the women of hollywood getting taller or the guys getting shorter... I know I'm often surprised when I see actors of either sex standing next to other people an realise just how damn short a lot of them really are... I suspect this could also in part account for the aparence of larger breasts amoungst A list celebrities. We hardly ever see them without some sort of pre-meditated camera work in action so it's extremely hard to compare...

Well, compared to Pamela Anderson or by Hollywood standards in general they are. ;) Point taken, though. I guess she falls into that other 10%. BTW, when did you get married?

My point here is that what you see in movies is totally out of proportion to the people you encounter in everyday life, especially given how skinny a lot those actresses are. I like to see actresses who are proportioned like real people in movies, not freaky caricatures who look like they belong in a porno flick. It would also be nice to see a greater variety of types, not mostly tall, blond, and with big tits (or at least two out of those three). And getting back to the topic which started this thread, padding is just plain stupid. It's catering to the lowest common denominator which unfortunately is the only thing Hollywood does well these days. It's also demeaning as all hell to all females in general. How would you as a male feel if it was a common practice to pad actors near their crotch? I like to think I'm more than my penis size. I'm sure most females like to think they're more than just their cup size. Sadly, Hollywood is run by a bunch of low-class people who emotionally never made it past the age of 14, and it shows in what passes for entertainment these days.

If I was still married, my wife would have kicked my ass for putting a 533x800 pic of her in a online forum.

Hope you don't end up sleeping in the car tonight, 'dude.

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing but maybe SD asked his wife if it was OK. My sister for sure would put her husband in the hospital if he tried a stunt like that without her approval.

There is no closet in Hollywood. All you have to do is listen to a few director's cuts, and raving gay becomes obvious.

It certainly is intresting that all the leading men, or almost all, are now very short, and, the vast majority of leading women are taller then the men.???

I think it's about 90 years of genetic pooling, resulting in certain characteristics being reinforced. I think the reason for implants is most of the women in Hollywood are fitness freaks, out of necessity, and the result is very low body fat, and small, or no breasts. Also, the beauty industry, modeling industry, sports industry, all put a premium on height.

The camera makes you look heavier, and, women need to be very thin to look good on film.

With the advent of women's sports, in Kalifornia, land of the bikini, athletics and working out have created the new Jennifer Garner type superstar. Low body fat, big, strong women.

In my youth, women had two groups, maybe three, and they were small, for sports: swimming, cheerleading, and maybe tennis, mainly considered
homosexual, so somewhat shunned.

Other then that, not many were into any sort of sport. Our area had a disproportionate number of studying demons, making it a female dominated academic situation. With the advent of title 9, women's sports
has developed, a far greater percentage of healthy, strong, beautiful women. Plus, fitness has become acceptable for women, and, even more so, a desirable characteristic. The result is a better balance then my generation, between academics and fitness. Younger folks should enjoy the many more beautiful, and balanced women then my generation presented...
Enjoy.

Nice pic of you two, and happy belated first anniversary!

BTW, me and Groltz thought the same thing because some people are funny about pictures of them being posted online. To date I haven't posted a picture of myself anywhere, much less one of someone I know. Maybe one of these days when I look reasonably normal I'll try.

Thanks for the belated wishes.

The pictures not too bad. I'm still working on getting down the whole studio lighting thing. There's a bit of lens flare going on in that one (over my right shoulder). I'm pretty sure I have that one solved for future pictures.

Joe's point was what I was thinking too.

There's some unfortunate things that can happen to posted pictures...Even of a nice couple like Mr. & Mrs. Stereodude.

Congrats on the anniversary, BTW.

I'm trying to think of a a leading actress that has implants. Denise Richards is the only one I can think of. Pam Anderson, but I don't think she really qualifies as an actress.

Top stars that come to mind are huge: Cameron Diaz and sharkmouth, better known as Julia Roberts. Both around 5'11", and very strong.
Jennifer Garner, sort of. 5'9".

Annette Bening looks REALLY strong, low body fat. 5'8 1/2"

Sharon Stone 5'7 1/2" is VERY fit, but still retains a bit of her breasts...
Halle Berry 5'7" tall, and 103 pounds, is also very fit, but maintains her curves.

Angelina Jolie has become much thinner, stronger, and athletic.

Oscar nominees: Judi Dench: Serious old school.

Felicity Huffman plays a transexual, so I won't even touch how that affects Hollyweirds perception of women-men-sexuality.
Shes 46, and 5'5" tall.

Kiera McKnightly
5'7" tall and very thin, but, not weak.

Charlize Theron
5'10" tall and weighs 118 pounds ballet dancer

Reese Witherspoon
is 5'2" and HAD beautiful breasts, but two children have her wondering if she should appear in a bikini.

Mike Douglas' wife,
Catherine Zeta-Jones
5'7" as well.

"In the land of Hollywood Pygmies, the elevator shoed Dwarf is King."

http://www.celebheights.com/

http://www.celebheights.com/latest.html

Let's look at leading men
Joaquin Phoenix 5'8"

Mel Gibson
But a couple of years ago Mel tried to put to rest the issues of his height. On the hugely popular Parkinson show in the UK up came the issue of Mel's height. He talked about an article (from the Globe, see the image below) showing Mel being the next Bond...something like: "They had Sean at 6ft 3, Timothy at 6ft 2, Moore at 6ft and me...at 5ft 8."
"

Crow is about 5'10"

Cruise maybe 5'7"

Overall, you can see a rather disturbing trend with men becoming dwarfs, and women amazons...at least according to Hollyweird.

That's as good an analysis as any regarding the current situation. Funny that I read somewhere about Tom Cruise having to stand on a platform in a lot of his movies owing to the trend you're talking about. That really hits home because Tom Cruise is my height-5'9". Now I certainly don't consider myself short by any standards, yet in Hollywood I would be dwarfed by most of the leading ladies. I remember Brooke Shields was in my psychology class in college, and the one thing that immediately jumped out was how tall and thin she was. She must have had a good 5 or 6 inches on me, and she towered over most of the other guys as well. I always had a humorous mental picture of her standing beside my old gf, who was about 4'9", and thinking of the contrast between Hollywood's version of femininity versus mine. BTW, I never considered Brooke particularly attractive, either. Those bushy eyebrows were just too much, and while her features might have looked OK on camera, in person they really didn't. I didn't consider her ugly by any means, but certainly not that attractive, either.

On the leading men thing one time I saw Nicholas Cage when they were filming 8MM about ten blocks from my house. He seemed really short and thin for a guy, although I only got a quick glimpse of him. All I can say about the current gender stereotypes is that they show Hollywood is really a world apart from everything else. 90 years of genetic pooling in a more or less isolated environment certainly explains it.

Hopefully in the future we'll see a little more of the balance you mentioned . I think working out for both sexes started to become commonplace in my generation. I also remember quite a few of the girls I knew being pretty physically fit despite also being heavy studiers. I can only hope we'll see a better representation of both sexes in future films.

The more I think about it, and the more I sit here and watch UnderGroundOnline

http://video.ugo.com

the more it makes sense. People, both female and male, in the motion picture business, see their work as art. Also, the older male stereotypes are breaking down, and the people in high places want more 'artsey' type guys, and, oddly enough, portraying women in stronger roles then they have been.

Why cast Arnold, when you can cast Pierce, or someone thata can give you more range of character?

All rationale aside, there are casting directors, and, they are making our decisions for us.

To put it bluntly, artistic types tend to be either effimenate, or gay, in speaking and mannerisms, and politics. So, they see men as artists as well, and their self-conception is selecting our actors.

Not only do you have years of huge women, but you have just as long, a trend to 'artistic' men entering the LA arena. It's no joke that a good man is hard to find in LA (Cameron Diaz makes fun of this in Charlies' Angel's).

The industry is dominated by a certain type of pseudoartsy speech, and, you have to be able to converse in that language. My gf grew up in the Pacific Palisades, and, went to school with this generations producers/directors kids, who are now producer/directors. She is constantly pointing out her friends in credits, and, how the majority of her male friends were gay, in their high school.

By the way, my brother is a production manager for one of the major studios, and my father was a director/producer with his own production company. He was not gay, and, succumbed to the endless talent throwing themselves at him. I never did understand why he married 5 times, but,
whatever.

Weird place...

It seems like peoples heights are a measurement I'll never get used to, the idea that Charlize Theron is only 1-3 inches taller than Tom Cruise doesn't seem to ring true to me, but I'm hardly an authority since there isn't a single other thing I would ever measure in feet and inches so it's kiind of hard to visualise...

I guess I come from a family where all the males are pretty tall (Nearly all over 6') and the females are what I've always considered fairly short (arround 5'4"). By that standard the guys in Santillis post are pretty short and the women generally tall... I would consider Reece Witherspoon downright short at 5'2" and there are plenty of actresses equally short.

I think we can all agree that some of Hollywoods most "beautiful" women are perhaps not all they are made out to be... Probably labeling them globally masculine is a bit of an overgeneralisation, there are many Hollywood actresses who in my opinion are genuinely beautiful, and plenty who, although not in my opinon attractive could not accurately be described as masculine...

I've never seen any picture of Mercutio, Sol, JTR1962, CityK, Sechs, Mubs, Time, EBB, Gary and many others. Buck's pictures must have been quite old since he often complains about being overweighted, but he doesn't look like the standard american format (a .fat citizen) in the shots he posted.

I guess I could always post a picture of me, backside, from 50 feet away... oh wait, I don't have a camera.

There are three members of this forum who could identify me (maybe four), but only one is a regular (perhaps two) and I would appreciate if he wouldn't share any picture. Maybe someday I'll post something, but now would be a particularly bad time to do so.

Now regarding the main subject of this thread...I have absolutely no comment to make, except that I think that for a woman, kindness is a lot more important than breast size.

Actually, there are some women that are SO incredible in person, without makeup, that they make all that stuff look bad.

Diane Lee Hsu was like that. I remember one day, she was working out on a stationary bike in the gym, in a skin tight leotard, a bit wet...

Well, the three guys walked by her, and all three involuntarily had their mouths drop open...

She looks ok in movies, incredible in person...

hmmm, I don't know but I thought that Martina Navratilova was sexy. You might think I'm weird. But let me add to that.

I only thought that whenever she had her back turned. Like when she was walking back from the net towards the service line.

I wonder how the Fibonacci sequence relates to breast size? :mrgrn:

Howell said:
Breasts have been a symbol of femininity for a long time.
While that's certainly true there are some (non-gay) guys who just don't like them. Besides that, there are two other drawbacks to breasts. They tend to sag as the person ages, and I've noticed that those with larger breasts have a greater percentage of body fat in general. Hence, they usually end up looking like fat cows as they get older. From a medical standpoint, the incidence of breast cancer is certainly lower among those with small breasts, and probably close to zero among the flat-chested crowd.

Yes, that does appear to be true. I can remember being in a health store in Hawaii, where they had a special body fat analyisis. Mine was about 15%.

A BEAUTIFUL, maybe 5'4" girl came in, perfect figure, FLAT stomach, huge breasts, and they tested her. She couldn't believe she was 33%. After she departed, we figured at about 100 pounds, each breast was probably 5-8% of her total weight, and body fat. Maybe the numbers were a bit high, but, I would love to have been involved in that weighing process

Look at the girls mom, and you can get a good idea of what she's going to look like. However, you younger folks are lucky: that is not as true as it used to be.

Viva le difference'!!.
