IBM ThnkPad R51

Anyone have experience with this particular model, or with the more recent members of the R-series, in general?

Looking at buying one of these to replace what remains of the Dell laptop.

I "test drove" the IBM R51 and T41 before settling on the T41 because it is lighter. If you do not mind the 14.1 inch screen size then I would recommend the IBM over a Dell anytime (but then, I am probably biased against Dell :wink: )

This laptop will spend most of its life on a lap on a sofa in from of a television, so weight isn't so much an issue. The bigger screen and better configuration options are what drew me away from the T41 to the R51.

With the discount that I can get through friends, the laptop is pretty much going to be an IBM or an Apple -- and Macintoshes don't run Windows very well.
