I doubt he knew there were bolts in the box at the time.

When I was in China, I purchased a 16GB memory stick for ~$8. This was many years ago, and was the first 16GB stick I had ever seen. Connected it to my laptop right there and tried it out. Of course, it had the same issue as the one mentioned here, but I bought it anyway just to see what was going on. As soon as he knew that I knew, the price dropped quickly from $150 to $15, then to $8 when I started to walk away.

It's still around here somewhere...

That is what I meant, but I think there were two nuts on either side of the device.
