For those who were, like me, curious to know how many quotes we can do while still displaying text in the original one, the result is 30. I don't know if it's a limitation of the forum, my browser or anything else.

At least it displayed text in the preview window. Now it seems that 30 quotes is too much for the text to appear in the non-preview post. So all of this really was totally futile :-(

I increase my screen's definition a little and now the text shows. I guess then that the maximal number of visible quotes is different for everyone, depending on the definition they use for their monitor. Problem solved, time wasted.

I am omnipresent
I'm probably the only one who remembers the good old days of alt.cascade.

There was a whole newsgroup dedicated to nesting quotes. It was great fun for the people who couldn't figure out how to uudecode binaries (porn).

and so on. In the days of 80-column newsreaders the posts in that group were, um, decorative.

I do remember alt.cascade

I also seem to remember a lot of posts asking about what was going on, and then people with readers that wrapped the lines mucking things up....
