What's the best way to check out the MB manufacturer and MB modell and maybe revision from Windows? Any neat program to check this with?

For those moments you can't go wondering under the table...

The Belarc Advisor usually works well enough. Times when it can't pin down the exact manufacturer it will at least tell you a proper north and south bridge combination.
