Just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy a safe and pleasant holiday period.
For all others who also celebrate other events at this time I also wish a:
  • Happy Hanukkah
  • Io, Saturnalia!
  • Happy and Joyful Kwanzaa
  • Happy Constitution Day
  • Joyful Feast of Winter Veil
  • Happy Malkh-Festival
  • Happy Festivus
  • A peaceful Anastasia of Sirmium feast day
  • And reasons greeting for those that celebrate Newtonmas

PS. Apologies if I missed a holiday you celebrate.

Although Eda Rojiet Ezi has passed, I wish you all a somber and dignified period of fasting and contemplation.

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Glad to see 2024 go. Really shitty year for me and my siblings. Mom passing away, my bike accident, my brother's bike accident, my sister having back trouble, and then Trump being elected to put the final shit topping on an awful year.

That's quite a list and some I don't remember, so a thank you for helping my old brain do some work.

I might add that as I have lived in Asia for some 4 decades or so we keep an eye on the Lunar calendar because many people in Asia celebrate the New Year that the Lunar calendar offers up each year. It isn't always the same day when we compare that to the Gregorian calendar. Here in Japan they shifted to the use of the Gregorian calendar some time back, but it used to be in the ROK we pretty much focused New Year celebrations on the Lunar calendar, but if that is still the case I am not sure; haven't been in the ROK in many, many years.

Okey-dokey, enough of a lengthy post and this old man hopes all who read this thread have a good 2025. And a safe 2025. And a little bit more income/profit in 2025. And anything else that's cool in 2025; not a reference to temperature.

And hello to you, Mercutio.

It was a technical something I was working on and the Google search engine had this site providing a possible answer and then I poked around after the initial read and thought this might not be such a bad Community to pop in from time-to-time, but just popping in as a guest isn't so polite, so . . .

Thank you for asking.

Just as a little background, most of us, other than sedrosken, have been members of the same community for a very, very long time. Since the late 90s, in fact. We mostly know each other very well. In our ancient history, this site was set up as a replacement for forums run by storagereview.com, after it had a database issue that killed its own forums prior to 2001. Most of us are some kind of IT professional or developer or both, but all of us are also hobbyists to some degree.

Since our community is fairly small, I thought I'd ask what brought you here.
