Sunƒx]Rumour has it that if you play Microsoft CDs backwards you will hear Satanic messages.

Worse still, is that if you play them forwards they will install Windows.

He was appointed by Hindenburg, not elected. His party had won the most seats in the parliament (not majority), but Hitler was never directly elected by the people.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has been accused of lying, cheating and stealing. And I have heard many people speak in her defense. Let me enumerate the three arguments put forward by her defenders. First, they say, she should not leave office because she is presumed innocent until proven guilty after due process. Secondly, she did nothing wrong when she talked to an election official; in fact, all the suspicious remarks made during their conversation, such as those pertaining to kidnapping, vote padding and vote manipulation, were mouthed by the election official, not her. Thirdly, granted she is guilty, she remains our best option at the moment.

If that's the best option, I wonder what are the others. I admit I don't know much about your country. Wikipedia told me that it's a catholic area, so hopefully you don't have to deal with the muslim freaks and their foolish riots against europeans comics.

the Philippines has 3 geographic areas, Luzon (north), Visayas (middle) Mindanao (south). Mindanao is home to many Muslim peoples and they, too, have their extremist factions.

There was a celebrated kidnapping 3 years ago, some Germans, Malaysians, Filipinos and a few Americans were kidnapped. Some were beheaded (I don't have the details at my fingertips now) but an American Evangelical Missionary was killed during the rescue mission. His wife survived. This despite a sizable ransom being forked over. Try googling "Abu Sayyaf"

Lets get this back on track with another Joke of the day

-=alienn4hire=-]Divorced Barbie

One day a father gets off work and on his way home he remembers that it's his daughter's birthday.

He pulls over to a toy store and asks the salesperson, "How much is the Barbie on the display window?"

The salesperson answers, "Which one? We have: Work out Barbie for $19.95, Shopping Barbie for $19.95, Beach Barbie for $19.95, Disco Barbie for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $265.95."

The amazed father asks: "What? Why is the Divorced Barbie $265.95 and the others only $19.95?"

The salesperson annoyingly answers : "Sir... Divorced Barbie comes with: Ken's Car, Ken's House, Ken's Boat, Ken's Furniture, Ken's Computer and...One of Ken's Friends."

Not to sound sarcastic, but, aren't Phillipine politicians, and business, right up there with that model of democracy, Mexico?

Corruption, I thought, was an accepted fact of life with Phillipine politics.

I remember many Phillipino restaurant workers telling me when I said bad things about Marcos, that they were the Queen and King, next to Aquino. The meaning being Marcos, while corrupt, was an Angel compared to Aquino, IIRC.

Of course, we should talk, with Marion Berry, a crack head, as the mayor of our nation's capital...
