Monitors in 2022

What are people using or recommending for monitors in 2022? I mostly do office work, have enjoyed dual and quad 27" 2K display setups in the past, and do a little gaming. I'm redoing my office so now would seem like the time to jump into 27+" 4K monitors.

If/when I upgrade my monitor it's going to be OLED 4K but the price still needs to drop.

I never bought into the widescreen fad. Still using a pair of 20" 1600x1200 monitors. I'd love OLED in maybe 24" 4000x3000 resolution but I guess that's too much to ask for, so I'll settle for 4K, maybe also in 24" size (about the largest that will fit on my desk). I still want at least as much vertical screen height as my current monitors, which is about 12.2".

At home on my big computer I have one Dell Ultrasharp 4k display, one QHD (2560x1440), both 32", and one AOC 32" QHD screen. AOC and Asus usually offer very good value for the money, and most of the other monitors around my place are 22" Asus FHD IPS panels. I probably have six or seven of them, and I've gotten those for as little as $120.

I feel like QHD is the best value for the money; you can get a pretty great 32" display for right around $250.
I have an OLED TV. I worry a bit too much about burn in to really consider it for a PC monitor, even if the colors are REALLY impressive.

I ended up with a Dell UltraSharp 43" 4K U4320Q back in 2020 when it was on sale for a pretty decent price with other gift cards. It took some time to get used to the size but once I have it's been a really nice monitor and very easy to use at 100% scale for a 4K panel. The colors and brightness are really good overall.

I personally use a ViewSonic 27" 1440p144 monitor, I got it for roughly 300 bucks back last April, but I also play games on my computer -- you could likely easily get away with a 60Hz model for much cheaper. I also have a Dell P2210 on its side for IRC and Discord, also reading books that feel better in portrait, but that's not a new display by any means.

Honestly this'll probably hold me over for the next five years easily, if not longer. I do happen to be on the hunt for a better-than-75KHz CRT monitor for my retro setup -- my HP vx74 is fine, but it was always cheap, and I'd like something that can do 1600x1200 at a decent refresh rate so the PIII and P4 can spoil me.

Personally, just move from dual 20" 1680x1050 displays to a single 25" 2560x1080 monitor. (LG 25UM58)
When the kids got new PCs late last year, I went with 24" 1080p@144Hz displays, mainly due to desk space requirements. (4K @ 24" was rare/expensive).

I've already got a nice Trinitron TV that's perfectly fine for my consoles, but I'd like a better CRT monitor for my retro PCs.
