That could be a really nice solution for archival purposes. Assuming it's as reliable and quiet as we expect Samsung to be.

I wonder how succesful their implementation of an 8MB buffer will be as far as performance goes? I would like to find a good reason to like Samsung drives, given their 3 years warranty.

And not before time! Just so long as it is as reliable as the previous model, that's the main thing. And we should have it pretty soon: Samsung tend not to pre-announce. They wait till the unit is in volume production before they publicise it. Good!
