Actually the 300GB Maxline III is nice. I am very glad to have replaced the 740GD with one.

The Atlas 15K II looks pretty good too in the SR database comparison. Presumably the 36GB models are relatively quiet and cool compared to the 147GB models of the same family.

Jeez, look at the STR of the Maxtor. I think it will lust about limited by 32-bit/33MHz PCI bandwidth of my system.
