Microsoft calls AMD X86-64 operating system Anvil.

WE SAW versions of Microsoft's X86-64 operating system running on AMD chips at CeBIT in March, despite naysayers who wouldn't have it that such a creature existed.
But now we have absolute confirmation that there is an X86-64 version of Windows for the Hammer platform and rather suitably Microsoft has codenamed it Anvil...

I hope AMD's stocks will react well. Bought them at 12.25U$ :(

Microsoft has every reason to push for AMD. The bigger AMD is, the smaller the market share of Intel will be and therefore, the least Intel will have influence over Microsoft. With around 85% of the PC market, Intel can now pretty much decides all the trends in this market.

I am omnipresent
... which explains the technical event of the spring, WinHEC.

WinHEC delivers technical information on future directions for systems and peripherals running Microsoft® Windows® operating systems. If you are a driver developer or your business is involved in integrating hardware solutions for Microsoft Windows operating systems—then WinHEC is a critical event for you to attend!

Yup. Intel runs the show alright.

I realize "The Vole" refers to MS but what does it mean?
A "vole" is a "campagnol" in French. Here's what a campagnol is :
