As reported by Digitimes, AMD finished year 2002 with a small increase (+2.7% in 4Q) of its market share, mostly at the expense of Intel (-2.4% for the same period). For the entire year though, Intel gained 3.6 points to end up at 82.5% of the sales, while AMD lost 4.3% for an overall 16.3% of the big pie.

That's excellent news for AMD and for the processor market in general. he more AMD and Intel are close in market share, the more we have better products at a better price.
