Since most of the news can be read without clicking the news itself (and counting it, in effect, as a "read") why don't we add a script to count as "read" the news entries that have their links pressed?
Almost all news entries- as it should be- have their sources quoted in link-form so it will provide a true measure of what news draw SF members' attention and what not.
Sorry I've been repeating this over time but by giving weight to the news in the home page and studying the readers' habits we might improve the quality of news submitted:
-which news are more interesting according to members
-which submitter's stance (if personal notes are in) is the best
-which links (news sources) is really appreciated
and so on...
Oh, and guys... we still haven't fixed the news section topics... still 3rd-Party Article and Computer News and the likes... :-?
