[NEWS] - Sun to use Athlon in its Blade servers.

As reported by InfoWorld :

Sun will use Athlon XP-M processors, originally developed for mobile computing, running at 1.2GHz or 1.4GHz.

Sun will offer two processor types on its blades: the UltraSparc IIi, running at 650MHz, and the Athlon XP-M. The UltraSparc blades will ship in the second quarter, and the x86 blades in the second half.

Finally, a major player with an AMD-based server.

Hopefully AMD can make enough processors. The newer ones are on too short supply.
