[NEWS] - WDC Back in the 2.5" Game

I saw that line too and figured someone would come up with a good comment.

WD announces 40GB/p, when both HGST and Seagate announce for the same time a 50GB/p. I guess pricing is going to drop big time.

Yéti

My feeling on this is that it might be better to install a punch card reader/writer than to use one of these.

I think it is great that WD released these new drives. It seems that they put a lot of technology into this product to make it more reliable, which is a promising sign.

Yowza! Even I wouldn't be as brutal on Western Digi as this.

Wait, I could.

As "yesteryear" (or late to market) as they are, maybe Scorpios are refurbished pre-Hitachi IBM Travelstars that have been relabeled as a WD product. Lou Gerstner's 99¢ bargain bin!

You'd have to install the laptop on the punch card machine, not the other way around!

Technology has advanced since the early eighties. A punch card machine can now fit in your hand. Of course, if you want to read more than on card at a time, it might be tough....

Western Digital has also released a new logo with "universal appeal".
