NEWZ: Sony To Re-Enter Hard Drive Marketplace

I had a 3½ inch 20 MB Sony hard drive many years ago. It was a slug.

This will be a LOT different:

• Japanese public broadcaster Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK), working with Sony Corp., has developed a prototype 1-in. disk drive that is thinner and has more storage capacity than similar drives on the market today, an NHK researcher said this week.
