PCIe riser?

I'm looking at doing something unconventional with a gaming machine, but it is dependent on being able to make a very flat PC with a top-end gaming card. That means manipulating the PCIe 16x 3.0 slot, ideally through a flexible riser, but a right-angle one would do if it were the correct height for the waterblock.

Has anyone here used a PCIe riser with a high-end GPU? Issues?

Thanks!

I am omnipresent
I had a full height PCIe SAS expander on a 16x right-angle card in my FreeNAS box. It worked fine. No, that's not the same thing as a high end graphics card but to the best of my knowledge PCIe is remarkably un-fussy about such things.

Got a flexible one long enough to lay the video card in parallel with the motherboard. Should make for a very thin computer. Haven't unwrapped it yet, though.
