Playing Quake 3 online: How important is the video card????

Been trying to play quake 3 Arena. Kind of wondering if the Matrox P650 is just to slow to play online.???

For the most part the vid card requirement should be the same as in single player mode.

The exception is when you may have a large number of players on the screen at once.

I believe that a TNT2m64/vanta is about the minimum you'd really want to play quake 3 on. With the current graphics cards you may as well just by a geforce4 mx or a radeon 9x00

Well, Quake 3 Arena, the ones I've played, always have a ton of players.
I can do better if I turn all the stuff off, and go to 640 or something, but it's so ugly, it's no fun :cry:
