"Dave?"

"Yes Ed?"

"Did you see what those idiot Australians are asking now?"

"Which idiot Australians, Ed? Seems like they are all idiots to me."

"Tea and Tannin."

"Nope. What are they asking Ed?"

"Tea is running a poll to see what else people would buy when they are so stupid that they would buy a Microsoft security product."

"A what?"

"A Microsoft security product."

"Huh? Are you OK, Ed? For a minute there I thought you said 'Microsoft security product'. Hang on a tic, I'll turn my hearing aid up."

"I did say 'Microsoft security product', you fool. Redmond are planning not just one, but a whole host of them."

"Huh? And they are expecting people to actually buy them?"

"Why not? People bought Windows ME."

"Hmmm... I guess you have a point. I mean, why not? After all, Krupp were the world's best maker of heavy artillery, and they invented cemented armour plate, didn't they."

"And the Nobel Peace Prize was established by the guy who invented Dynamite."

"Yup. So ... er ... are you Ed? Or are you Dave?"

"Ahh, hang on a tic, I'll count back the paragraphs. ..... Yup. I'm Ed."

"Right, then. I must be Dave. Err, where were we?"

"I was telling you about Tannin and Tea going stupid. Have you found the thread yet?"

"Yeah. But I don't see what's so stupid about it. Tea is saying that the idea of a security product from Microsoft, of all people, is ridiculous. And Tannin is saying that her poll is dumb because people who would buy an M$ security product would buy all of those other duds. Seems sensible enough to me."

"But Dave, she's missed the point!"

"Are you saying that people who are so stupid that they would buy an M$ security product wouldn't line up to throw their money away on Zip drives and 75GXPs and Adaptec IDE RAID controllers and Telstra Big Pond Internet?"

"No, Dave, I'm saying that those turkeys already did!"
