I am omnipresent
Small business customers love them because they still have parallel ports. At least every second or third machine I deploy in a small office, I get a call asking why they can't hook their 20 year old Laserjet back up.

Well the 16GB arrived yesterday. I installed it into the machine this morning. The machine POSTed with the memory (always a good sign), and is currently running Memtest86+ while I'm at work.

Didn't you say that it does a lot of disk IO?

Maybe I'm not reading enough into this....

It's not just you, I don't understand the server either. I may be generally clueless but I would not use those Samsung drives in any kind of server.

Well, DDR2 price at least seem to have plateaued. There haven't been any notable changes downward in the last 4-6 weeks. DDR2 also seems to be in the process of being phased out. That amount of the higher capacity 4GB DIMM based kits available at Newegg keeps getting closer to 0.

I haven't been following DDR3 prices very closely, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

FWIW, the Mushkin kit I've been tracking went up $1 to 159.99.

I guess the 4x4GB G.Skill kit I bought from Newegg during their 15% off promotion is probably as cheap as DDR2 4GB DIMMs willl get.

I bit on the 15% off sale Newegg had and am now up to 16 GB (4x4). Other than running multiple VMs, I'm having some trouble finding a use for all this RAM.

I haven't loaded a 64bit OS on my machine yet, so the 16GB in my Sandy Bridge build is just sitting idle. I have a 64-bit OS on my server with 16GB of RAM though.
