I rip in DVD Decrytper and then compress in XviD, so no need for DVD Shrink. I'm sad to see that development in AutoGK has stopped though.

I use Nero recode to do basically the same thing with porn, but I still like to have actual movies on actual discs. Regardless, there are discs out now that choke DVD Decrypter.

I did a "mainstream" movie for one of the women in my office today that didn't even have CSS protection, but it did have a massive number of deceptive mastering tricks to choke the various rippers I tried. That's the kind of stuff that Ripit4Me is made to help with.

Interesting. I rip in IFO mode and grab just the movie, would this still be a problem? What does it look like in DVDDecrypter when you find one of these disks?

Depends. Usually you get Abnormal program terminations or unreadable sector errors. Depends entirely on the disc. Some discs appear to rip fine but on playback you find they did something weird so that you get nothing but a loop of a couple different chapers from the movie.

Try ripping a brand-new Disney movie with DVD Decrypter sometime.

This is a really great program. DVD Shrink is long in the tooth, but, it gives you options to cut down the size of your DVD, like I don't need FRENCH, Spainish, Korean, Japanese,German, Greek, and Latin versions of the sound track on my DVD's. Combined with being able to open and rip first in DVD Decryptor, then, sometimes, being able to open those files, and elimenate unwanted features, you maybe able to get a DVD down from double layer, to single layer, and actually be able to burn it to a DVD. Fantastic product, when combined with FIX VTS. Yes, it's a bit of a long process, but, well worth it.
